Erica McSwain, Vice President & CoFounder of Tau Nu Theta is a counselor by both career and nature. She is dedicated to creating safe spaces where people can grow and thrive at every stage of life. Erica proudly wears many hats: loving wife, proud mother, caring sister, and the friend who feels like a family member. Originally from Chicago, IL, she has called Washington, DC home for more than a decade. At her core, Erica is mission-driven. She serves as the Community Director and a performing member for Cheer DC, a nonprofit that raises funds and spirits for LGBTQIA+ and social justice causes. She is also a devoted member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. While pursuing her PhD, Erica holds fast to the belief that when your work is rooted in love and purpose, it never truly feels like work.

When Erica searched for an LGBTQIA+ Greek home, she was disappointed to find that many groups valued “tradition” and “appearances” more than taking a strong stand on social issues. This fueled her passion to build something different: an organization that was inclusive of all forms of womanhood and committed to equity. That vision connected her with another like-minded, feminine-identifying leader, and together they dreamed of a sorority that would focus on what really matters: service, advocacy, and community impact.

The inspiration for Tau Nu Theta Sorority, Inc. came during a nostalgic moment watching Stomp the Yard, one of Erica’s favorite childhood films. She was reminded of how people from different walks of life could unite under a shared purpose. To her, Greek life represented responsibility, values, unity, and explosive energy. The mission and vision for Tau Nu Theta echoed those same themes. The sorority was born to bring the fire back into Greek life to ensure that our social movements never die.

Tau Nu Theta Sorority, Inc. was forged in fire: resilient, bold, and unafraid to do the hard work needed to create change. Its mission is to spark transformation, strengthen sisterhood, and lead with integrity. Each member brings her own cause and passion, but together the sorority is deeply committed to uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community, which too often faces heavy burdens of discrimination. Through advocacy, awareness, and unapologetic leadership, Tau Nu Theta ensures that voices once pushed into the shadows are now heard, valued, and empowered. We plan to empower our members and the community to be leaders in their own right.

Tiffany Reid is a wife, mother, grandmother, visionary entrepreneur, and fierce advocate who has dedicated her life to creating spaces where LGBTQ+ feminine aligned individuals are celebrated, empowered, and equipped to lead. As the President and Co-Founder of Tau Nu Theta Sorority, Inc., she has transformed her personal journey into a movement, building a national sisterhood forged in resilience, grounded in purpose, and designed to spark lasting change.

Known by her line name, Soror CaTalysT, Tiffany represents action and transformation. She is the spark that ignites growth and resilience in every space she enters, pushing boundaries, dismantling barriers, and inspiring others to rise.

Her leadership extends far beyond TNT. Tiffany is the driving force behind CT Legacy Holdings LLC, a real estate development firm creating generational wealth through innovative community projects, and Grow N Learn with Moore Care LLC, a 23-hour childcare company providing culturally affirming care to modern families. She also champions philanthropic initiatives that strengthen families and communities, guided by her belief that access, and inclusion are the foundation of legacy.

Tiffany’s service includes her role as a Facilitator with the Military Veteran Caregiver Network (MVCN) through the American Red Cross, supporting military families, and her separate work as a Certified Peer Specialist, where she provides guidance, empowerment, and advocacy for individuals navigating personal challenges.

Her decision to co found Tau Nu Theta was fueled by the recognition that the world needed a sorority that was more than symbolic, it needed one that unapologetically uplifts LGBTQ+ feminine aligned individuals, cultivates authentic leadership, and leaves a permanent legacy of impact. Tiffany’s vision is bold: to redefine sisterhood, transform lives, and ensure that future generations inherit a community of power, safety, and belonging.
